Bloodlust Part 1 Released!

All right, here's how specials are gonna work here: I'll post about the release of each part as I would normally, labeled with the name of the special for easy access.

That said, the Bloodlust begins with a distress signal from the Gavalantari. Something tells me they're dead and buried...

The logo for this part, here in front of the two stars of the Aquation system.

This is the Gorgax system. Why is that so familiar?

We return to the Laedon system, home of the Gavalantari.

A destroyed planet and its two moons. This is not good...

The Xarvolgian Dilemma

One of the key components of the backstory of my late lamented interactive series, After The End, is the mysterious Xarvolgians. An ancient civilization from 47 million years ago, they originally inhabited the planet H'Trae (where the series is set) before dying off. Had the series continued, we would've discovered they were still alive, albeit in an alternate dimension. Unfortunately, fungus3, being the [insert insulting noun of choice here] that he is oftentimes, decided to take a stab and ruin everything.

My Version

In my backstory, the Xarvolgians met their demise when they got cocky and decided to go on an imperialistic agenda. They went to war with the Cretanians (descendants of old Earth dinosaurs), and were eventually defeated by a powerful Cretanian bioweapon deployed by General Skoth. However, some survivors took advantage of what would later be known as the Toriin Passage and went to an alternate dimension.

Unfortunately, this completely conflicts with...

Fungus3's Version

I can't say that I know everything about fungus3's Xarvolgian backstory, but all signs point to them meeting Natas and becoming embroiled in a civil war that eventually ended in their demise. One Xarvolgian named Retep Silednas fled this conflict through time traveled to the present day and founded the Omega Six (which I happily destroyed).

Reconciliation

This isn't the first time fungus3 has done something like this, where I introduce an alien species with a backstory, only for him to retcon it into uselessness). However, just as with the Jikken'Sha and Experimenters, there is a way to reconcile the accounts.Without further ado, here's the TRUE Xarvolgian Backstory!

47 million years ago, the Xarvolgians were a peaceful and curious race who only wanted to explore the galaxy. However, those peaceful times would quickly come to an end when some Xarvolgians met a Mysterious Alien named Natas, who promised them great powers. While the members of the dominant Xarvolgian subspecies from H'Trae (my version) were willing to use the powers, the other subspecies (fungus3's version) was appalled at the very thought.

Unrest soon exploded into a bloody civil war, which ended with the "Fungus3-Xarvolgians" winning and the "Williezk-Xarvolgians" driven nearly to extinction. Due to their natural aggression, they quickly pursued an imperialistic agenda, seeking only to conquer and destroy. This brought them into conflict of the Cretanians, who eventually destroyed every last Xarvolgian with a deadly bioweapon. And thus the once-mighty race had been destroyed, but new accounts show some may have survived by fleeing to an alternate dimension.

Conclusion and PS

So, this is my method of reconciling the two accounts into one. This also explains Retep's unawareness of the Cretanian conflict, since my thought is he fled during the Civil War. Also, if you're wondering about the origin of the subspecies, the two evolved on different continents of H'Trae (I like to think that H'Trae's continents were once fused into a supercontinent like Pangea that broke apart over millions of years, eventually leading to the subspecies.)

Part 25A Released!

In this next (somewhat) exciting STNL² part, the Ardox colony on planet Yipxellus is about to have a small-but dangerous-problem.

A cool shot of Yipxellus.

The Titan's newest crewemember, Brakon Caillers.

Fire and water usually don't mix. That is not true on Yipxellus.

The Ardox colony.

Something wicked this way comes...
